LEGO League Regionals
Posted on: 13/03/2023Congratulations to the nine students who competed in the Regional Tournament for the BOSCH LEGO League Challenge. We are immensely proud of their resilience, teamwork and work ethic. They have spent the last 6 months designing, building and coding a robot to complete allocated “energy missions” in a given time period. Achieving 3rd place (congratulations!), they showcased our school values beautifully, especially when facing challenges with slight robot malfunctions. Their support of each other achieved full marks in the professionalism category, in every match.
Students were also asked to create an “innovation project” presentation to a judging panel, tackling an issue relating to energy. Judges were “beyond impressed” at the “very detailed and well researched” project. Our students investigated nuclear meltdowns, and designed a prototype model adapting nuclear reactors to overcome this issue in future.
Whilst we are so proud that they achieved a trophy for 1st place in the Innovation project, we are more proud of their teamwork throughout this project. We will now be submitting this project for the Silver CREST award.
The judges' feedback was very complimentary, as they told students “if we could hire a group of people to visit BOSCH offices and provide workshops demonstrating teamwork, resilience and kindness, the Nower Hill team would have the position”.
