Five year 10 students and one year 9 student attended the four day LIFE (Local Intervention Fire Education) program between January and July 2018. The program offers 14 to 17 year olds the opportunity to learn a range of skills while working alongside the Brigade. They learned the job of a firefighter and took part in a range of activities including casualty rescue techniques and using breathing apparatus equipment. The students were praised for supporting others, being an active part of the team, overcoming adversity, showing leadership and getting outside of their comfort zones.
