Black History Month is celebrated with the intention to recognise the contribution and achievements of those with African or Caribbean heritage. It is also an opportunity for people to lean more about African and Caribbean culture, the great contributions people have made to society and also to understand the effects of racism and how to challenge negative stereotypes.
