On 27 February twenty-one of our Year 10 and 11 female students attended an Inspiring Women Careers Insight Event at Bank of America Merrill Lynch at their premises in the City, together with two other schools.

The aim of the event was to help young women realise the breadth of careers available to them in banking and to encourage them to develop their skills and aspirations. The event began with an introduction about different types of banking by a senior leader in Bank of America. This was followed by a panel discussion with Bank representatives.  Sound advice was given to our students such as working hard at school, being organised with homework, finding out what really interests them and pursuing this in the future and keeping up with hobbies so as to make them stand out from the crowd.

Students then participated in an entertaining trading game, which involved being in teams and buying and selling commodities for the country they had been assigned to. Our students found the event enjoyable and it has inspired them to aim high in the future and be determined to achieve their career goals.
