2023 GCSE Results
Posted on: 24/08/2023Another week and another set of phenomenal exam results for Nower Hill students! In a year where GCSE results were expected to fall back to pre-Covid levels, Nower Hill students have once again delivered an excellent set of results, which demonstrate the school’s trend of continuous improvement. We are incredibly proud of our young people and send them our heartfelt congratulations.
Our Year 11 students who, let’s not forget, have encountered significant disruption to their education in their five years of Secondary education, have excelled. 35% of all grades were at the highest level of 9 to 7; 85% of all grades at 9 to 4; 69% of all students achieved grade 9 to 5 in English and Maths and 84% grade 9 to 4. We are absolutely delighted that the outstanding results achieved will allow all of our students to progress to their next stage of study and are thrilled that the majority of them will be staying on in Nower Hill’s excellent 6th Form.
Building the skills and confidence to ensure excellence and success is of course, very much a community effort and we feel very fortunate indeed to have such a strong school community, where everyone is invested in the success and achievement of our young people. I would like to extend the most sincere thanks to our very hard working staff, both those in the classroom and all the support staff who help to create such a positive and welcoming environment for our students and enable the school to run so smoothly. A huge thank you as well to all of our wonderful parents and carers, who always work so collaboratively with us in the best interests of their children and have offered their unconditional support over the past 5 years. Finally, thank you to the students themselves who have been an absolute joy to work with and have demonstrated determination and resilience, rather than succumbing to the negative reporting around the difficulties that young people have faced over the past few years. They have learned the very important life lesson that hard work really pays off, whatever the circumstances!
Each and every one of our young people should be proud of what they have achieved and I hope there will be many joyous family celebrations tonight. Our very best wishes to them all as they progress to the next stage of their education.
