Year 12 A Level Law - Mock Trial
Posted on: 12/12/2022This week, our Year 12 A Level Law students participated enthusiastically in a mock trial during their lesson. All students were impressively persuasive in their delivery, especially when examining and cross-examining Miss Azam as a witness. Some of them truly embodied their roles by dressing the part. The students carried out their own research prior to the trial, analysed fictitious witness statements and wrote their own opening/closing speeches, which were delivered with gravitas. Our student witnesses, jurors, police officer, defendant, court clerk and judge were committed and excited to ensure that justice was being delivered appropriately. They convinced our jury to find the defendant ‘not guilty’.
Mock trial participants were:
Judge: Kyjuan
Court Clerk: Malaika
Jurors: Ella & Kinjal
Prosecuting Counsel: Tauqeer & Zainab
Defence Counsel: Madina & Akshay
Police Officer: Zaki
Defendant: Kannan
Victim/Witness: Debora
Witnesses: Hashir & Miss Azam
