Huge congratulations to the 8 teams who took part in the GCHQ National Languages Competition.

Over 2,000 schools competed nationally, with many of those schools being selective schools; one of our teams ranked 304 - congratulations Zaki Majid and Nabhya Shah. This was particularly impressive, as students completed the various challenges in their own time at home and at lunch, showing real commitment and determination.  Over the course of 5 days, teams scored points by tackling a variety of fun, immersive, language-themed challenges hosted on a virtual platform. They ranged from easy to difficult and involved a mix of different languages, even made-up languages!

We hope to enter the competition again next year for the current Year 8 students, and look forward to taking on the challenge again. Here is a sample of a similar style task... see how you get on.
