Welcome to Year 7
Posted on: 28/09/2021After the disruption at the start of the year due to testing, Year 7s joined us on Monday 6th September for their first day. It was lovely to see all the students walking into school, proudly wearing their Nower Hill uniforms. We have been very impressed with the enthusiasm and conduct of our newest cohort.
We launched our motto for the year group in their first assembly; Respectful, Resilient and Reflective. We picked these three key characteristics to help develop our Year 7s to become well-rounded, successful and happy individuals, who will make a positive contribution to Nower Hill and the wider community throughout their time with us and beyond.
On Friday 17th September, all 324 of our Year 7s gathered together for the Fun Event. The event gave students the opportunity to make new friends and take part in some team building activities to get to know the other children in their forms. It was lovely to see all students taking part, encouraging and cheering each other on, with ‘Hula Hoop Rock, Paper, Scissors sure to make its Olympic Debut in 2028. To end the event, students enjoyed pizza, drinks and left school with big smiles and an ice lolly!
Here’s what the students had to say:
‘The activities were really fun and the pizza and lollies were yummy!’ Ayaan.
‘All the activities were really well organised and fun and I especially enjoyed the giant Tug of War! I’m really looking forward to the rest of Year 7!’ Honey.
Thank you to our Year 7 families for helping to support them during this very important transition period. We look forward to a fantastic year (and years) with our new Year 7 cohort and wish them a continued success at Nower Hill.
