On our second very different results day this summer, we would like to send our hearty congratulations to all of our GCSE students on their excellent results; our sincere thanks to our very hardworking staff who have supported the students over the past 5 years; and our gratitude to the parents and carers of our Year 11 students who have supported them unconditionally during this very challenging time and worked so collaboratively with us. The success of young people requires a community effort, and we feel very fortunate that everyone in our school community is totally invested in ensuring the success and achievements of our young people.

We all understand what a difficult year this has been and along with the students, were deeply disappointed that their time with us and the opportunity to demonstrate their talent in actual exams was curtailed. But make no mistake; the grades that they have received are a reflection of the hard work, skill and academic ability that they have demonstrated throughout their time studying for GCSEs and are well deserved. Each and every student should be proud of what they have achieved and more importantly, of the resilience that they have demonstrated in maintaining focus and optimism for the future during these past extremely challenging months. We are so proud of our young people and we send them our thanks and very best wishes as they progress to the next stage in their education; for the vast majority that will be Nower Hill 6^th Form, and we look forward to welcoming you back in September. Others will be progressing to vocational courses at college, so we wish you the very best of luck in your new settings and please don’t forget to come back to see us and let us know how you are getting on.
