36 hours per week term time only plus one week to be worked in the summer holiday during enrolment and exam results time.
 
Scale H4 (£19,917 pa which pro rata is £17,395 pa).
 
Required for a September start, a conscientious, committed and reliable person to provide administrative support in our thriving 6th Form.

6th Form Study and Careers Mentor

 

Scale H3 (£18,657 pa which pro rata is £11,880 pa).
30 hours per week, 35 weeks per year (1st September 2017 to 25th May 2017)
 
We are looking for a new 6th Form Study and Careers Mentor to join our friendly and enthusiastic 6th Form team.
 
This role would suit someone who has had experience of working in a school or who is thinking of teaching as a possible career in the future; however previous experience of working in the education sector is not essential.
 
This is an interesting and varied role involving a mixture of supervising 6th Form students during their study periods, delivering some study skills sessions (resources will be provided), mentoring students, giving university and careers advice to students and supervising students’ use of our library. You will be supported in your role by a large and committed 6th Form team. You will be fundamental to nurturing an environment that helps students develop their independent study skills and become happy, healthy individuals.

Part Time Science Technician

 
Scale H3, £18,657 pa, (£11,914 pa pro rata)
 
This post is for 27 hours per week term time only.  Specific timings are negotiable.
 
From 4th September 2017, we require someone who is capable of carrying out technician duties for KS3 and KS4 science (11 to 16 year olds).  These tasks include preparation of materials, practicals and demonstrations for classes.  A science qualification at least to A- Level is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given.

Required from 4th September 2017.  Temporary contract until 25th May 2018 in the first instance.  36 hours per week term time only 8.30am - 4.45pm.  Scale H5, £22,506 pa which pro rata is £19,164.
 
You will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher and for supporting the learning of students in your attached faculty.  These abilities will be assessed at interview. 
 
We are looking for someone educated to graduate level with an interest in how young people learn and enthusiasm for working in a school.  Previous experience in schools is not necessary.  This role would be particularly suitable for someone thinking of a career in teaching.  The ability to work in a team and the skill to communicate with young people are essential attributes for this role.

Faculty Teaching and Learning Assistant – Sports Studies

TEACHING ASSISTANTS

 

30 hours (5 days) per week term time only (8.15am to 3.15pm, with a one hour unpaid break).  Temporary contracts from 4th September 2017 to 31st August 2018 at scale H2, £18,330 per annum, which pro rata is £13,007 per annum.

 
Required, enthusiastic and committed people to support and work with students within and outside of the classroom. It is desirable that applicants hold a degree qualification or equivalent but this is not essential. 
 
An interest in working with students with a wide range of special educational needs including emotional, social and mental health needs is essential, together with an interest in supporting second language learners.  A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important.
