Charities

Students at Nower Hill are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the school.  Many excellent enrichment and volunteering opportunities are provided and students are expected to undertake at least one of these per week.  As a school we place a great deal of value on students raising money for or working for charities.  This enables our students to gain the experiences and skills that will enrich their applications for Higher Education and employment.

Our 6th Form chosen charity is St Marcellin’s Children’s Village in Zimbabwe.  In the spring term each form organises an event to raise money for the orphanage.  During 2016 - 2017 the 6th Form raised in excess of £2500 by holding a wide range of activities which included an Easter Egg Hunt, Car Wash service, Beat the Goalie, Sponge a Teacher, Movie Night, Valentine Delivery Service and Cake Sales.
